Born and raised in Trier, Germany, Benita emigrated to the US spring of 2002. She has lived all over the US; including OR, CT, OK, MO, and now calls North Atlanta, GA her home with her 4 children and 2 German Shepherd dogs. (Yes, totally cliché. She knows.)
She has been a professional photographer since 2009. Her work has been published in and featured on numerous blogs, magazines, newspapers and books. She has worked with celebrities and influencers such as Toby Keith, Krystal Keith, Judith Williams, Shabnam (the Hungry Warrior)...

While she focused heavily on weddings during the majority of her photographic career, she has since retired from the wedding industry and now specializes in fine art portraiture; specifically headshots and branding photography.

She is a very active person who is deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ. Her favorite things to do are spending time with her family, play games and be outside in the sunshine. She does not enjoy cold weather and prefers hot, even humid, climate over freezing temperatures.

Every time she travels back to Germany, the first thing she has to eat is a Döner Kebap. With Schaafskäse and lots of sauce.

She loves her children fiercely and was very blessed to have 4 of them, who have graced many pages here on the blog.
Aside from photography, she also freelances as a photo editor for other photographers, offers mentoring programs, is a German<>English freelance translator, proofreader, and copywriter. She is also a Monat Market Partner and loves the benefits of using clean beauty products for herself and her clan!

Her favorite number is 13. (Probably because she is #13 of 14 children. Yes, before you ask, all from the same set of parents.) Her favorite flowers are gardenias, peonies, and heavily scented garden roses. She prefers wildflowers over any store bought bouquet. And she really likes dark chocolate and German black licorice. Reading and drinking water, or Sprudel, are two of her essential daily tasks.
