How to motivate yourself and get out of a rut

We as entrepreneurs and small business owners often live a lonely work-life. We don’t necessarily have employees or colleagues. And unless we meet up with other entrepreneurs…we might not actually get to talk to another person all day. I see it happening more and more, and have felt this myself, that you start to feel more than loneliness. That feeling of sadness sweeps into the rest of your being and you start doubting yourself, your craft, maybe even your business or why the heck you started going out on your own to begin with – you doubt your why.

While feelings of loneliness, sadness, doubt and failure are totally normal and will probably pop up in anyone’s life at some point…choosing to talk about it, to acknowledge that those feelings are ultimately toxic and that you don’t want them to have the power are all steps in the right direction.

I’ve learned many healthy ways to get out of such negative mindsets and general ruts so that they don’t take over and take charge in leading your life and running your business. I‘d love to share just a few of them with you:

🌟Make a list of positive self-affirmations.
🌟Make a vision board for yourself and if you’d like to keep things separate: another one for your business – have fun with this!
🌟Meditate.
🌟Meet up with a friend.
🌟Go OUTSIDE! Being outside, even when the weather is not so nice…is cleansing and refreshing to your soul!
🌟Exercise. This can be just 15-30min of walking. Or doing some yoga at home.
🌟 Pick 1 attainable goal for next 1-3 weeks. ( Drinking more water/day, eat healthy meals, read a book/scripture, listen to 1 podcast that has nothing to do with business but instead with personal development….)

Achieving your attainable goal will leave you feeling excited & proud of your accomplishment and elevates your mood and mindset. It will motivate you.

Someone else can tell you all day long how amazing you are but it is far more important for YOU to tell yourself this. Look in the mirror, or bring up your phone in camera mode and say to yourself: “You’re amazing, talented, you have many facets and many feelings, you are worthy. I am proud of you!” If you must compare yourself to someone, let it be the you of yesterday and not someone else. Choose yourself, support yourself, cheer for yourself and love yourself. It’s what you’d do for your best friend, so why not for yourself? I encourage you to apply these tips…

See the effects that will follow. 🥰
