Free Photography Tip {oklahoma wedding photographer}

I have been mentoring and teaching others for several years now. I absolutely love it. I love teaching my 101 Workshop and my Foto Basics Workshop. It’s so rewarding and amazing to see how I am able to help others improve their photography skills. Simply amazing!

So I decided to anoint last Saturday as a free Photography Teaching day. A day where I give out free tips and offer help.

Let’s start out with a huge pet-peeve of mine. I notice this in soooo many pictures. From newbies and pros alike. I’m sure it occasionally happens to me as well but usually those shots don’t make the cut for the final edits. Unlike this one here. LOL
A picture can speak a thousand words and it’s really all in the details. Things we may forget to move away before we take the shot. Or Not paying attention to the in-camera crop. Or, like in this case, the angle of the back eye!
Try to never cut directly through the Iris with the bridge of the nose. Or make the back pupil disappear altogether behind the nose. Or – as you can see in the top picture…make your subject cross-eyed.

I also offered via my Facebook Fanpage to critique a couple images for free.

Thanks to the brave ones out there who sent me their images and let me have my wicked way with them. It is meant as constructive criticism and don’t let it knock you down but push you to continue to practice, practice, practice!! 🙂

Seid Jahren helfe ich jetzt schon anderen durch Mentorships, meinem 101 Workshop und meinem Foto Basics Workshop und ich liebe es. Es ist total erfüllend und bereichernd zu sehen wie ich anderen Fotografen helfen kann damit sie sich in ihrem Hobby oder Beruf verbessern können. Es freut mich jedes Mal auf’s Neue wenn ich die Fortschritte nach einem Kurs sehen. Das ist echt der Wahnsinn!

Ich hab den gestrigen Samstag aus Spaß zum offiziellen konstenlosen Fotografie-Nachhilfeunterricht getauft. Einen Tag an dem ich ein paar Tips und Tricks aus meinen Erfahrungen mit der Welt teile.

Ich kann euch garnicht sagen wieviele Fotos in in den letzten Wochen gesehen habe wo das Model mit einem Auge am schielen war. Grrrrr. Da graust es mir jedes Mal auf’s Neue wenn ich sowas sehe. Es ist ein sehr kleines Detail und zugegeben relativ leicht zu übersehen, aber ich persönlich find es garnicht toll um es milde auszudrücken. Ein Bild kann 1000 Worte sprechen und da kommt alles bis auf’s kleinste Detail drauf an. Müll, den man ggf. vergißt aufzuheben. Der BH-Träger der unter’m shirt hervorguckt. Oder halt wie in diesem Fall ein schielendes Auge!

Es ist recht leicht diesen Fehler zu beheben. Versucht nie mit dem Nasenbrücke durch die Iris zu schneiden oder die Iris & Pupille vom hinteren Auge komplett zu verdecken. (Meine große Zizi hatte einen Spaß für mich zu modeln für dieses ‘Projekt’.)

Vielen Dank an all die mutigen Fotografen die mir ihr Foto zugeschickt haben. Es ist konstruktive Kritik und lasst euch nicht davon unterkriegen sondern eher ermutigen. Ich sag nur: üben, üben, üben!! 🙂
