Looking back at my childhood there are several people, friends, whom I cherish above and beyond. Those friends are part of my past. Part of my present. And hopefully will always be a big part of my future.

Katherine is one of those dear friends. We were born the same year, though several months apart, in the same hospital. I think her and one of my brothers even share the same delivery nurse. haha We grew up together. We went to church together. And I spent endless amounts of weekends staying up ALL NIGHT giggling, singing, dancing and playing at her house or vice versa. Her parents are American but moved to Germany many years ago. (Her daddy is Daniel Lewis Williams – a super duper talented, world-renowned Opera Singer!!!) I was soooooo proud of her when I found out that she served a Mission (for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) here in the States. Which is where she met Zack. On her very last day might I add! haha She briefly went back to Germany after serving her mission but then was compelled to yet again come back to the States to go to Graduate School. So – back in the States her and Zack kinda met up again…. and well….. ultimately fell in love. I remember the night she called to tell me that she and Zack got engaged. I think I about screamed my head off out of pure joy and excitement!!

Earlier this month I flew out to UT for their engagement session. We had such a fun time! We used Zack’s old bike for some pictures. (He actually sold it that day and so we really had to use it for a few shots…lol What a typical guy!) Of course we also had to head to the MTC! lol Big thanks to my new friend Brandi for hooking us up with the beautiful La Caille. That place is gorgeous!! I’d love to see it sometime during spring and fall.

Their wedding is split into 2 days/weekends (the Sealing at the San Diego Temple and a Reception in Utah) this spring and I so cannot wait. I am beyond thrilled for the both of you and I am honored to be your wedding photographer. I love you guys and I hope you like your sneak peek.

Ich hab ein paar Leute aus meiner Jugend deren Freundschaft ich über alles liebe und ehre. Diese Freunde sind ein Teil meiner Vergangenheit. Ein Teil meiner Gegenwart. Und werden hoffentlich immer einen großen Teil meiner Zukunft beanspruchen.

Katherine ist eine davon. Wir sind im gleichen Jahr Geboren, nur ein paar Monate auseinander, im gleichen Krankenhaus auf die Welt gekommen. Ich glaub sie hatte sogar die gleiche Hebamme wie mein Bruder Benny wenn ich mich nicht täusche. haha Wir sind zusammen aufgewachsen. Sind Sonntags in die gleiche Kirche gegangen. Und wir haben sämtliche Wochenenden zusammen verbracht wo die Nächte durchgemacht wurden mit singen, kickeln, plappern und tanzen. Ihre Eltern sind Amerikaner und vor vielen Jahren nach Deutschland ausgewandert. (Ihr Papa, Daniel Lewis Williams, ist ein Weltberühmter und wahnsinnig begabter Opernsänger!!!) Als ich hörte, dass sie auf Mission für die Kirche Jesu Christi der heiligen der letzten Tage ging war ich so dermaßen stolz auf sie. Ihre Mission hat sie in der USA verbracht und hat auch dort Zack kennengelernt. An ihrem letzten Tag! haha Na wenn das mal kein Schicksal war?! Nach ihrer Mission war sie für eine kurze Zeit wieder in Deuschland bis es sie zurück in die Staaten verschlagen hat um weiter zu studieren. Hier angekommen hat sie den Kontakt zu Zack aufgebaut und – nach kurzer Zeit wuchs ihre Freundschlaft zur Liebe. Ich erinnere mich noch genau an den Abend als sie mich anrief um mir die frohe Botschaft ihrer Verlobung mitzuteilen. Ich glaub ich hab laut rumgeschrien vor Freude!!!

Ich liebe mein Lensbaby!

Anfang Januar bin ich dann also nach Utah geflogen um Verlobungsfotos von den beiden zu machen. Wir hatten einen morz Spaß! Zack hat am 1. Tag sein Motorrad verkauft und da mußten wir natürlich die Gelegenheit ausnutzen um noch schnell ein paar letzte Fotos mit Rad und Paar zu machen. (Typisch Mann! lol) Fotos bei der MTC durften natürlich nicht fehlen. Und ein großes Dankeschön geht an meine neue Freundin Brandi, die es uns ermöglichte auf La Caille unsere Session zu beenden. LaCaille ist ja sowas von genial! Würde das mal zu gerne im Frühling oder im Herbst erleben.

Die Hochzeit der beiden ist aufgeteilt in 2 Tage/Wochenenden (die Siegelung findet im Tempel in San Diego, Kalifornien statt und eine große Hochzeitsfeier in Utah) im Frühling und ich kann es kaum erwarten. Ich kann es garnicht wirklich in Worte fassen wie sehr ich mich für die 2 freue. Ich fühl mich so geehrt, dass ich ihre Hochzeit fotografieren darf. Ich hab euch beide super lieb und ich hoffe euch gefällt eure Vorschau.

Seriously – this was one of the funnest shoots I’ve had in a while!

Alison & Ryan crack me up. They are so full of joy, love for each other and for Jesus Christ… it’s wonderful and absolutely refreshing.

This was the first time we met – they actually booked me for their wedding without having met me. Huge compliment to me by the way and again I thank you! Their wedding will be in Tulsa later this month and I am so excited for it. So we met in OKC last week and had some fun together. Because really….I don’t think I could call it anything other than that. They love to be outdoors and love to goof around. So as you can imagine…. they were right up my alley! We were swinging of branches, well they were – I wasn’t…and all of us climbed into a tree. I just love early morning light and this day was no exception to that.

Ha – dieses Shooting hier war mit Abstand eines der spaßigsten Shootings die ich in letzter Zeit hatte!

Alison & Ryan sind so ein lustiges Päarchen. Voller Lebensfreude, Liebe für einander und Liebe für Jesus Christus….. es ist einfach toll und sehr erfrischend.

Unser Shooting was das erste Mal, dass wir uns getroffen haben. Die 2 haben mich für ihre Hochzeit Ende diesen Monats gebucht ohne mich vorher kennenzulernen. Das ist ein riesen Kompliment an mich und ich danke den beiden an dieser Stelle nochmals sehr dafür! Sie werden in Tulsa heiraten und ich freue mich schon total. Wir haben uns letzte Woche in Oklahoma City getroffen und hatten eine Menge Spaß zusammen. Ich kann es wirklich nichts anderes nennen. Es war mehr Spaß als Arbeit, obwohl ich ja eh immer Spaß bei der Arbeit habe! lol Die 2 lieben es in der Natur zu sein und rumzualbern. Wie ihr euch sicherlichlich vorstellen könnt waren wir auf gleicher Wellenlänge! Wir haben uns an Äste gehangen, naja, sie haben es gemacht ich hab’s nur vom Boden aus fotografiert, und wir sind alle 3 Bäume hochgeklettert. Ich liebe Sessions früh am morgen. Das Licht ist immer so toll.

Die 2 sind total die Spaßvögel!!

Alison & Ryan – ich bin so froh, dass ihr mich als eure Hochzeitsfotografin ausgesucht habt. So froh, das ich euch kennenlernen durfte. Ich kam zu shooting fertig zum arbeiten und bin wieder nach Hause gefahren mit 2 neuen Freunden. Ihr müsst unbedingt mal mit uns und unserem Boot raus auf einen See fahren — ihr 2 und eure Jungs! Have you ever had that moment where you met someone new, got to talking to them and realized you had soooo much in common? So much, that you think you must be long lost relatives, twins from our pre-existence, best friends since the cradle?

Well…. after my meeting with Amanda I felt like that. It was almost scary how much we had/have in common. She’s got a German Omi – obviously I have one too. She used to play soccer – I used to play soccer. Her better half is in the Air Force – duh… so is Craig. My favorite color is teal …. the day we met – she was wearing a teal shirt. Serious! Come on. Can the signs be any more subtle than that? We were destined to meet. And I am soooo glad we finally did.

A friend of mine gave me this new dust texture. Isn’t it just sublime?! And Amanda – stunning!

The story about Amanda & Forrest is one, you don’t hear very often, some don’t believe in it – others like me have experience it themselves. For them — it was Love at first sight. They fell so fast and so hard….they couldn’t even wait to get married. No really…. they couldn’t. And didn’t. lol So … just a short while after they met they got married at the courthouse. Since it was just a very small and private family gathering they’re having a bigger wedding with the whole 9 yards this August. And I am so happy that I get to document this day for them. (Thanks again for choosing me you guys!)

So we met a couple days ago to take their engagement pictures….well… not really engagement since their already husband and wife… but you know what I mean.

I brought my new bike along which I got from my Clan for Mother’s Day this year and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE how they turned out.
We met at the crack of dawn… literally. At 7am!!!! I usually don’t even get up that early. But I am very happy I did. The morning light we caught was stupendous! Perfect if you ask me.

Amanda & Forrest I had such a fun time with you!!! You 2 were awesome and I cannot tell you how excited I am for your wedding next month. I hope you like your sneak peek.

Habt ihr schonmal jemanden kennengelernt, mit dem ihr euch auf anhieb super gut verstanden habt? Jemanden, mit dem ihr supi viel gemein hattet? So viel, dass man meinen könntet ihr wärd über sämtliche Ecken irgendwo verwandt? Oder das ihr Zwillinge aus dem Vor-Irdischen Leben seid, oder beste Freunde seid der Geburt?

Hmmmm…. nachdem ich Amanda kennenlernte und ein bißchen mit ihr quatschte hab ich mich genauso gefühlt. Es war schon fast unheimlich wieviel wir gemein haben. Sie hat eine deutsche Omi – offensichtlich hab ich die auch. Sie hat früher Fußball gespielt – ich auch. Ihre bessere Hälfte ist bei der Air Force – pfff….so ist Craig. Meine Lieblingsfarbe ist petrol…..das Shirt das sie anhatte als wir uns zum 1. Mal trafen …. war petrol. Echt! Hallo?! Könnten die Zeichen noch offensichtlicher sein? Es war nurnoch eine Frage der Zeit, bis wir uns endlich kennenlernten. Und ich bin so froh darüber, das wir es endlich gemacht haben.

Das Licht = himmlisch!

Amanda & Forrest’s Liebesgeschichte ist eine, die man nicht sehr oft hört. Viele glauben nicht daran, andere wiederum, welche wie ich, haben es selbst erlebt. Bei den beiden war es Liebe auf 1. Blick. Sie haben sich so schnell und so tief ineinander verliebt, dass sie es kaum abwarten konnten zu heiraten. Und somit haben sie’s auch nicht. Im Ernst. Sie haben nicht gewartet. Kurz nachdem sie sich kennenlernten und zusammen kamen sind sie zum Standesamt gedüst und haben geheiratet. Da es aber nur eine kleine, familiäre Hochzeit war werden sie im August das ganze nochmal im größeren Kreis machen, mit allem drum und dran. Und ich freu mich schon sehr diesen Tag für sie festzuhalten. (Vielen Dank euch 2 nochmal, dass ihr mich als eure Hochzeitsfotografin ausgesucht habt!)

Wir haben uns also vor ein paar Tagen getroffen um ein Verlobungsshooting zu machen… okay…sie sind schon verheiratet, also nennen wir es einfach nur ein Paarshooting. Ihr wisst ja was ich meine, ne?! Wir haben uns gaaanz früh morgens getroffen. Um 7Uhr morgens! Ey – normalerweise bin ich zu der Uhrzeit noch im Bett! Aber ich bin echt froh, dass ich so früh aufgestanden bin, denn das Licht war einfach nur genial! Perfekt wenn ihr mich fragt.

Ich habe als Requisite mein neues Fahrrad mitgebracht, was mir mein Clan dieses Jahr zum Muttertag geschenkt hatte. Ich LIEBE LIEBE LIEBE wie die Fotos damit geworden sind.

Jup – das da unten, in der Mitte von seinem Ring …. das bin ich.

Amanda & Forrest ich hatte eine Menge Spaß mit euch beiden!!! Ihr 2 ward einfach super und ich kann euch garnicht erst sagen, wie ich mich schon auf eure Hochzeit nächsten Monat freue. Ich hoffe euch gefällt eure Vorschau.

Holy smokes … I cannot believe I am leaving for my 2 week trip to Germany in just 3 days. I have yet to pack, and am still running around as if my departure was another month away. I sure hope Craig will manage without me. By himself….with 3 kids. Babe – I love you!

Now on to some other …very fun….very hot…very sweet things! I worked extra hours (man…sometimes it stinks being the boss….and not getting paid extra for overtime) last night because of my trip to Germany. I wanted to make sure that Amy & Josh got to see their sneak peek before I leave. Before the craziness of a Workshop, a Wedding and tons of sessions begins.

Amy is Taylor’s aunt. Her and Josh are getting married this July and we met yesterday to take their engagement pictures. We went some new locations. Locations I officially LOVE! The sun was high and bright yesterday and we got away with TONS of fabulous images. Seriously you guys….I’ll be posting TONS here… but that’s just a sneak peek! I have LOTS of pictures for you.  Amy kept saying what ‘terrible’ models they make….and really – she could not have been any more wrong. You two were perfect. Not just for me as your photographer, but I can tell for each other as well. I love this one. Thanks guys for being so awesome and climbing in the tree for me. lol

Amy – you have such a captivating smile. Don’t you ever dare say you’re not photogenic again! You hear me?!

Amy and Josh are fabulous people and I feel so blessed to have met them. The gypsy (his – not my words! and based on the fact that Amy’s lived in almost as many places as me) has found herself the perfect man to put her roots down. And the country boy (Josh grew up on a farm in Texas) has met the perfect match to show him the world. Like I said before…..perfect! Josh – you’re such a hunk!

Meine Herren….ich kann nicht glauben, dass ich schon in 3 Tagen abfliege für meine 2 Wochen in Deutschland. Ich hab noch nichts gepackt und renn jeden Tag noch rum, mach erledigungen, als wär mein Abflug erst in einem Monat. Ich hoffe Craig kommt ohne mich klar. Ganz alleine…..mit 3 Kids. Schatz – ich liebe dich! Okay….jetzt wird aber über eine anderes Thema gesprochen…. was Spaßiges…. was Scharfes….was Süßes! Ich hab extra Überstunden gearbeitet (Mensch….manchmal nervt es echt wenn man sein eigener Chef ist und keine Überstunden bezahlt bekommt) letzte Nacht wegen meinem bevorstehendem Deutschland Ausflug. Aber ich wollte auf Nummer sicher gehen, dass ich die Vorschau für Amy & Josh noch vor meinem Abflug bloggen kann. Bevor die Tollheit mit meinem Workshop, einer Hochzeit und sämtlichen Shootings für mich beginnt. Was für ein süßes Paar! Heiß, ne?! Und schaut euch mal diesen super Ring an! Hat Josh toll ausgesucht. Amy ist die Tante von Taylor. Sie und Josh werden anfang Juli heiraten und wir haben uns gestern getroffen um ihre Verlobungsfotos zu machen. Wir haben ein paar neue Locations ausprobiert und ich muss sagen, dass ich sie liebe! Die Sonne stand hoch oben am Himmel und schien wie verrückt und wir haben eine ganze Menge toller Fotos bekommen. Echt ihr Zwei — das hier ist nur eine ‘Vorschau’… ich hab noch viel mehr wo die herkommen. Macht euch auf was gefasst! Amy hatte ständig genörgelt, dass sie doch sicherlich die schrecklichsten Models überhaupt für mich wären…..und echt – sie hätte nicht mehr falsch mit diesen Kommentaren liegen können. Ihr 2 seid einfach perfekt. Nicht nur für mich als Fotografin, sondern auch für euch selbst.

Amy & Josh sind 2 ganz tolle Menschen und ich fühl mich gesegnet sie gestern kennengelernt zu haben. Die Zigeunerin (Josh’s Worte, nicht meine….und das beruht darauf, dass Amy fast so oft umgezogen ist wie ich) hat den perfekten Mann gefunden um endlich ihre Wurzeln zu schlagen. Und der Bauernbub (Josh ist auf einer großen Farm in Texas aufgewachsen) hat die perfekte Frau gefunden um ihm die Welt zu zeigen. Wie ich schon sagte….perfekt!

Erinnert ihr euch an das tolle grüne Feld von den Fotos mit meinen Mädels? Nix mehr grün — ist jetzt braun.
