No, we are still not in our new house. I’ve given up on a countdown and am merely waiting for the surprise of its completion one of these days.

I have yet to blog about so many wonderful shoots, Workshops and Weddings from last year and today I want to show off Emma & Greg’s Canadian wedding.

I met Emma during my 1 year high school year in Oakville, ON at Oakville Trafalgar High. I believe it was during Physics class that we recognized each other. Realizing that we lived just down the street from each other. You know…. every once in a while you see a person and just know that you have to be friends because deep down….you just KNOW. Well, that’s pretty much how it was with us. I have wonderful memories from my year living with my oldest sister and her family giving me the opportunity to experience high school and life in general abroad. (Thanks again to my awesome parents and big sis! I love you!)

Now back to Emma. When she told me that she was getting married it was obvious that I had to shoot her wedding. I was soooo excited. I had not been back to Canada in over 10 years and I had not seen Emma since the day I left back in 1997. Yup, we’ve stayed in touch via email, post mail and eventually facebook since my return to Germany. Actually excitement would be a definite understatement! It was so wonderful to finally see my friend again, finally meeting the man who captured her heart, and of course to actually be able to hug her again. It was wicked!

Btw — Emma and Greg welcomed baby boy Gavin into their family on March 22nd, 2011! Congratulations again to the happy family!

Emma & Greg, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your special day. I love you guys to pieces and hope that it won’t be another 10+ years until we see each other again. All the best to you 3!

Nein, wir sind immernoch nicht im neuen Haus. Ich hab mitlerweile keinen countdown mehr und warte einfach nurnoch auf die Überraschung, dass wir (irgendwann) endlich einziehen können. Ganz so lange wird es aber hoffenltich nichtmehr dauern.

Ich muss immernoch über so viele verschiedene Shootings, Workshops und Hochzeiten von letztem Jahr bloggen und heute möchte ich euch von Emma & Greg’s Hochzeit berichten.

Ich habe Emma kennengelernt, als ich 96-97 in Kanada bei meiner ältesten Schwester und ihrer Familie lebte. Ich glaube es war im Physik Unterricht am Oakville Trafalgar Gymnasium in Oakville, ON das wir uns kennenlernten. Es ist euch doch bestimmt auch schonmal passiert, dass ihr jemanden getroffen habt und wusstet, dass ihr unbedingt Freunde werden müsst. Tief im Innern war es mir von Anfang klar – wir müssen Freunde sein! Sie hat die Straße runter von mir gewohnt und ich habe so viele tolle Erinnerungen an mein Jahr mit ihr. (Hier auch nochmals ein riesen Dankeschöen an meine Eltern und meine große Schwester und ihre Familie die mir ein Jahr im Ausland ermöglicht hatten. Ich liebe euch!)

Wieder zurück zu Emma. Als sie mir verkündete, dass sie heiraten wird war ich natürlich total glücklich für sie und wir wussten sofort, dass ich ihre Hochzeit für sie dokumentieren muß. Seid ich 1997 wieder zurück nach Deutschland bin war ich nichtmehr in Kanada. Nach über 10 Jahren konnte ich endlich meine Freundin Emma wiedersehen und ihren Verlobten, der Mann der ihr Herz gewonnen hat, kennenlernen. Freude pur wäre eine Untertreibung. Wir ihr seht haben wir ueber 10 Jahre den Kontakt und unsere Freundschaft vie email, Briefpost und letzten Endes facebook aufrecht erhalten. Es war einfach nur genial!

So nebenbei — Emma & Greg wurden am 22. März Mama & Papa. Gavin ist ein süßer Wonneproppen und ich wünsche auch auf diesem Wege der glücklichen Familie nochmals alles Gute!

Emma & Greg, vielen Dank das ich euer besonderes Ereignis für euch festhalten durfte. Ich hab euch ultra lieb und hoffe sehr, dass wir nicht nochmal 10+ Jahre warten bis wir uns wiedersehen. Alles Gute an euch 3!
