Benita R. Cloward – BRC Photography

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the Musgrove Clan. What a sweet family! Even though we met early in the morning it was a miserably hot morning. But we braced the heat (gosh – it was already 85deg at 8am!) and bright sun to get some wonderful images.

These were their very first family pictures sine the birth of their beautiful daughter Emma and I feel so honored that I was chosen to be the one to take them.

Emma’s daddy is a fire fighter here in Norman and of course we had to incorporate something to resemble his job into the pictures. I love how these pictures turned out.

I love this one!! Sometimes the Oklahoma wind can do wonderful things to change the complete feel of a picture such as here. I don’t think without the flowing hair this picture would evoke half es many emotions by looking at it. For instance… here in just know that Emma will be protected no matter what. No questions asked. Because her mom (& dad) love her unconditionally!


Isn’t this so dreamy? And those eyelashes. Oh my!

Letzte Woche hatte ich das Vergnügen Familie Musgrove kennenzulernen. So eine süße Familie! Obwohl wir uns extra früh am Morgen getroffen haben war es dennoch eine super Hitze. Doch wir haben uns geweigert uns von der Hitze abhalten zu lassen. (Wie kann es denn bitteschön um 8Uhr morgens schon fast 30°C sein?!?) Und haben natürlich trotz der heißen Temperaturen und der prallen Sonne wunderbare Fotos machen können.

Ich bin so froh, dass der Papa seine Feuerwehrausrüstung gerade zu Hause hatte.

Es waren die ersten professionellen Familienfotos für die Musgrove seid der Geburt ihrer kleinen süßen Emma und ich fühle mich wirklich geehrt, dass sie mich ausgesucht haben um diese Fotos für sie zu machen.

So eine knuddelige Maus die kleine Emma!


Und dann hatte die Mami auch noch ein lila Tütü für die Kleine….. süüüüß!

Emma’s Papa arbeitet bei der Feuerwehr hier in Norman und ich musste doch natürlich ein paar gewisse Details deswegen mit in die Fotos einbeziehen. Ich liebe das Resultat der Fotos.

Ihr 3 – vielen Dank, dass ihr mich zu eurem Zuhause eingeladen habt um eure Liebe füreinander einzufangen. Ich hatte eine tolle Zeit mit euch zusammen und ich hoffe euch gefällt eure Vorschau.

Hehe… I came across this contest today from I ♥ Faces.

So I remembered one of the many pictures I took at Ben & Jen’s wedding in Germany and just HAD to enter this one. Jen’s expression to me is just simply priceless! Makes me laugh out loud every single time I see it. Those games they make the new bride and groom play at their reception sometimes…. man… can you say funny!?!

I had so many requests for people wanting to attend my 1.0.1. Group Workshop in Trier – I was utterly speechless to say the least. Sadly I had to turn down several but in the end there were 4 1/2 wonderful people who traveled far and wide from all over Germany to attend my Workshop. I feel very honored that I got to meet these terrific individuals, teach them some more about photography (the technical, theoretical and business side of it) and make new friends for life.

A special thanks goes out to the following individuals whom without, this day could not have been as successful as it was.

It was a long day but we all had a wonderful time. We went location scouting through downtown Trier, then headed for the beautiful mountains/countryside around Trierweiler. The weather couldn’t have been any better, lots of sunshine and warm temperatures.

I have already received new requests to host another one and I feel very confident that should I have enough time during my next trip to Germany — I will host another 1.0.1. Workshop. Wow.

Ich hatte so viele Anfragen für meinen 1.0.1. Gruppenworkshop in Trier – ich war wirklich sprachlos. Leider musste ich manchen Anfragen absagen, doch am Ende waren es 4 1/2 super tolle Teilnehmer die kurze und weite Strecken hinterlegten und aus ganz Deutschland angereist sind um an meinem Workshop teilzunehmen. Ich fühle mich geehrt, dass ich diese wunderbaren Personen kennenlernen durfte, und ihnen mehr über die Fotografie (von Technik, bis zur Theorie und über die Businessseite dazu) beibringen durfte. Ich habe wirklich neue Freundschaften für immer schließen können.

Ein großes Dankeschön geht natürlich auch an alle anderen beteiligten, ohne die dieser Tag nicht halb so erfolgreich hätte sein können.

Es war ein langer Tag aber wir hatten alle eine unbeschreiblich tolle Zeit zusammen. Wir haben erst in der Trierer Innenstadt angefangen und haben dort tolle Stellen entdeckt. Danach sind wir dann auf’s Land gefahren Richtung Trierweiler um die tolle Deutsche Landschaft mit einzubeziehen. Das Wetter an dem Tag hätte wirklich nicht besser sein können; viel Sonne und warme Temperaturen.

Ich habe schon wieder viele Anfragen bekommen wann ich denn meinen nächsten 1.0.1. Workshop in Deutschland halten werde. Und ich bin guter Zuversicht, dass ich es bestimmt bei meinem nächsten Trip anbieten werde, wenn ich denn genug Zeit haben sollte. Schickt mir eine email mit “1.0.1. Workshop” als Subjekt wenn ihr mehr Info zu meinem 1.0.1. Workshop wollt oder wenn ihr euch auf die Warteliste setzen wollt um mit die ersten zu sein, die erfahren werden wann und wo meine nächster 1.0.1. Gruppenworkshop in Deutschland stattfinden wird.

Und so benebei….ich unterrichte auf Fotografieklassen individuell für alle, die neu in der Fotografie dabei sind mit ihrer digitalen oder analogen Spiegelreflex Kamera, oder einfach mehr darüber lernen wollen. Oh…. I can be so mean sometimes… hehe… I have been driving Nicky’s mom crazy with little glimpses of her pictures on facebook. Don’t worry… it was a first for me too and I am usually not as mean. But I simply couldn’t resist.

The pictures, the clarity and detail thereof just knocked out of my socks. Then again… it’s Nicky’s eyes that were so big and clear that you can see me entirely reflecting in them, or count every single last eyelash!! Amazing.

Nicky’s mom Claudi and I met through her older sister many years ago. She lived just a few blocks away from my house growing up. She’s now married to a fellow US soldier and still stationed in Germany. We actually tried to have a session during my August 2008 trip as well but…. I am glad I got to shoot little Nicky this time around! He’s such a bundle of energy, super friendly and lovable! He held my hand, gave me hugs and we ran around the park as if we’ve been buddies since the day he was born. I loved it!

We went to the Palace Gardens (remember the beautiful castle downtown Trier?) and made friends with another kid at the playground who let us borrow his soccer ball. Man — Nicky is a natural-born charmer as well as soccer player. He’s got one heck of a right kick!

It actually starting raining on us during the session and we ran to the castle for cover. Daddy then went to get the car. Lucky him…. it got downright nasty while we were waiting. Thunder, lightning…the whole deal! Nicky was so cute! He kept telling me that the thunder was music…what a fabulous way to look at it! He was even brave enough to run into the rain and back! Love it!

Claudi and family — thanks so much for allowing me to capture wonderful Nicky! I wish I could be there for the birth of baby #2! We’ll just have to set up a shoot again during my next trip to Trier! I hope you like your sneak peek and please forgive me for teasing you via facebook! lol

Oh…. ich kann manchmal so frech sein…haha…ich hab Nicky’s Mama ganz hibbelig gemacht mit kleinen Eindrücken/Fotoausschnitten von den Fotos hier auf facebook. Keine Sorge…ich bin nicht immer so frech, doch ich konnte mir es einfach nicht verkneifen.

Die Fotos, deren Klarheit und Detail sind einfach der Hammer. Aber es hat ja auch sicherlich sehr viel mit Nicky selbst zu tun, denn schließlich ist er derjenige mit so wunderschönen, großen, klaren Augen, in denen ich mich komplett drin spiegele, oder bei dem man jede einzelne Wimper zählen kann!!! Einfach nur genial.

Niky’s Mama Claudi und ich kennen uns über ihre große Schwester, die ich vor vielen Jahren kennengelernt habe und wohnte auch nur ein paar Straßen entfernt von mir. Mitlerweile ist sie wie ich mit einem US Soldaten verheiratet, der noch in Deutschland stationiert ist. Auch hier hatten wie versucht ein Shooting schon im August 2008 zu haben, doch ich bin sehr froh, dass es erst diesmal geklappt hat, denn somit konnte ich den kleinen Nicky richtig kennenlernen. Er ist so ein süßer Kerl! Total freundlich und liebevoll. Wir sind zusammen Händchenhaltend rumgelaufen, er hat mich des öfteren umarmt und wir hatten zusammen Spaß durch den Park zu flitzen. Er gab mir das Gefühl, dass ich seid seiner Geburt einer seiner besten Kumpel sei. Einfach nur süß!

Toll, oder?!


…ich schmelze dahin….

Wir haben uns am Palastgarten getroffen (da wo das tolle Schloß in der Trier Innenstadt ist) und haben sogar neue Freundschaften auf dem Spielplatz dort geschlossen mit einem Jungen, der so nett war und mit uns Fußball gespielt hat. Meine Herren — Nicky ist nur von Geburt aus ein richtiger Chameur, sondern auch ein Fußball Naturtalent. Der kann vielleicht schießen!

Es fing leider während unserem Shoot an deftigst zu regnen also sind wir schnell zum Schloss gelaufen um uns dort in’s Trockene zu stellen. Papa ist dann das Auto holen gegangen und kann froh sein, dass er einen Teil vom Sturm nicht wirklich mitbekommen hat. Mensch, was für ein Unwetter! Es gab Donner, Blitz und eine riesen Regenschauer. Und Nicky war einfach zu süß. Er meinte nach jedem Donnern zu mir, dass es Musik sei. hihi… Was für ein schöner Gedanke! Er war sogar mutig genug um raus in den Regen zu laufen! Klasse!

Ach… und wenn ihr mich fragt, gehört das hier in die Werbung! So ein toller verträumter Blick.
