Happy St. Nikolaus!

Haha… I hope all of you who celebrated St. Nikolaus today had a great time – just as good or at least half as good as we did! You should’ve been there to believe it! Santa (you know who you are!) dropped off some delicious German candy and some really cool PJ’s for the kids.

In Germany St. Nikolaus is kind of comparable to the US Christmas stockings I guess, at least the way I was raised. So last night the kids each put 1 pair of boots in front of the house for Santa to stop by and drop off a ‚preview‘ for Christmas, that is IF the kids behaved. lol Which for the most part they did, so this morning the first thing that came out of Zizi’s mouth wasn’t her usual „Guten Morgen, Mami!“ but „Where are my presents from Santa, Mami?“ So I went outside first to position myself in front of the door, camera in hand of course, to document everything.

It was simply priceless! Here they were rushing through the door. Zizi of course took the candy and the boot containing her new PJ’s. The little 2 …well, different story! They could’ve cared less about the PJ’s. They acted like a bull seeing a red flag….the red flag being the Kinder candy bag! Hahaha Nothing else matter anymore. Needless to say, they snatched the bag, left everything else ran back inside and slammed the door shut right in front of my eyes. Awesome! I guess Craig must have noticed that some things were missing because not even 10sec later the door swung open again and my 2 little ones came back to retrieve the missing gifts. Jeez….likes I said before….absolutely priceless! Once I was back inside and C.J. realized what character was on his PJ’s (Spider Man, which is his 2nd favorite right after Curious George) he was thrilled and shouted: „OH MY GOSH!“ Guess he was happy about it after all!

Haha… ich hoffe alle, die heute Nikolaus gefeiert haben hatten eine tolle Zeit. Genauso wie wir, oder min. halb so viel wie wir! Ihr hättet es mit euren eigenen Augen erleben müssen! Der Nikolaus (du weißt wer du bist!) hat uns ganz leckere dt. Süßigkeiten und für die Kids je ein paar coole Schlafanzüge vorbeigebracht.

Letzte Nacht haben die Kids also je 1 paar Schuhe vor die Haustüre gestellt, damit der Nikolaus für jeden was vorbeibringt, denn sie waren im großen und ganzen bisher recht brav für´s Jahr. Heute früh war dann das erste, was aus Zizi´s Mund kam: „Wo sind meine Geschenke vom Nikolaus, Mami?“ anstelle ihres üblichen „Guten Morgen, Mami!“ Also bin ich zu erst raus und habe mich mit Kamera in der Hand positioniert um alles schön brav zu dokumentieren.

Es war einfach unbezahlbar! Hier kamen die 3 durch die Tür gelaufen. Zizi hat natürlich gleich die Schoki und ihren Schuh genommen mit ihrem Schlafanzug drin. Die anderen 2, tja…das ist eine andere Story! Die haben sich Null Gedanken um die Schlafanzüge gemacht und sich verhalten wie ein Stier der Rot sieht…wo die Kinderschokolade die rote Flagge ist! Hahaha Alles andere war total egal. Kurz gesagt, sie haben sich die Tüten geschnappt, haben alles andere links liegen gelassen und sind wieder in´s Haus gedüst und haben mir die Tür vor der Nase zugeschlagen. Super! Ich geh mal von aus, dass Craig gemerkt hatte, dass was von den Geschenken fehlte denn keine 10 Sek später ging die Türe wieder auf und die 2 Kleinen tapselten raus um den Rest der Geschenke aufzulesen. Meine Herren….wie ich schon sagte….einfach unbezahlbar! Als ich dann wieder drinnen war und C.J. realisierte wer auf seinem Schlafanzug drauf war (Spider Man, der gleich nach Curious George sein Lieblingscharakter ist) meinte er mit großen Augen und voller begeisterung „OH MY GOSH!“ Also hat er sich doch noch über was anderes gefreut als nur die gute deutsche Schoki!
