Sunday we decided to pay Craig a visit and support him at the Air Show. And boy did we have a ball! The kids; and I admit me as well, absolutely enjoyed seeing all the different airplanes, helicopters, fighter jets and God knows what. As you can see in the pictures we had an overcast day but at least it wasn’t as windy anymore and it was still warm enough to run around in shorts and T-shirt. One of Zizi’s favorite airplanes of the day, right after the helicopters, was the C-117. She compared it to a big humpback whale and I think she made me push the buggy at least 3 or 4 times in and out of it. 
) Her biggest highlight of the day by far was sitting inside the cockpit of a helicopter and holding on to the joystick. She thought that was, and may I quote her “so cool”! Kiki was mesmerized by the flying version of the helicopter, the kind that can fly sidewards and backwards. She was flabbergasted when she spotted it in the air all of a sudden going to the left. Pointing at it and shouting “Mami, look!” You’d think C.J., being the boy and all would be the craziest about all those different aircrafts, to tell you the truth though, he was more interested in those inflatable jumping houses they had on site for the kids to play in! Then again that’s a typical boy thing too….always being active! He kept bouncing around from corner to corner; having the time of his life!
The actual Air Show was pretty darn cool, too. Some parts scared the bejesus out of me. My favorite part of the show by far was when one of the airplanes was going at full speed and then out of the blue cut his engines; going from super loud to complete silence. The effect was so cool. We had a terrific time!
We decided to drive through Portsmouth again before heading back home. Ahh..what a cute town. Funny thing is, I felt a feeling of loss and sadness on the way going back home. Wonder what that’s supposed to mean?!
Well, as you can tell by the pictures and my very elaborate “storytelling”, we had a fantastic weekend. I can’t wait to go back up there for another visit. (Mack’s let me know whenever you want me to come up and take your family pictures…I’ll be there in a heartbeat!)
Now that we’re back home we’re in full preparation mode for Zizi’s upcoming birthday party this Saturday. Can’t believe she’s already turning 4! Boy does time fly by fast!
Für den Sonntag hatten wir uns dazu entschieden Craig zu besuchen und ihn bei der Air Show zu unterstützen. Manno mann hatten wir vielleicht einen Spaß! Die Kids, und ich muß gestehen ich auch, hatten einen morz Spaß die verschiedenen Flugzeuge, Helikopter, Düsenjäger und was weiß ich nicht noch alles anzusehen. Wie man aus den Fotos erkennen kann war es etwas bewölkt aber zum Glück war es nichtmehr so windig und es war warm genug für kurze Hose und T-Shirts. Eins von Zizi’s liebsten Flugzeugen an dem Tag, gleich nach den Helikoptern, war das C-117. Sie hat es mit einem großen Buckelwal verglichen und ich glaub ich mußte gleich 3-4x den Buggy rein- und rausschieben. ) Der Höhepunkt des Tages für sie war mit Abstand, dass sie in einem Helikopter Cockpit sitzen und mit dem Joystick spielen durfte. Sie fand das, und ich quotiere: “so cool”! Kiki war total fasziniert von den fliegenden Helikoptern, die seidlich und rückwärts fliegen können. Sie war völlig verblüfft als sie einen in der Luft entdeckte der urplötzlich seidlich nach links flog. Sie zeigte nurnoch drauf und schrie “Mami, look!” Man würde meinen, dass C.J. als Junge bestimmt den größten Spaß an den ganzen verschiedenen Flugzeugen hätte, aber um ehrlich zu sein, hatte er mehr Interesse an diesen aufblasbaren Springhäusern die sie zur Belustigung der Kinder dahatten! Das wiederum ist ja auch ein typisches Charaktermerkmal von Jungen…immer aktiv! Er ist von einer Ecke in die andere gesprungen und hat sich großartig amüsiert!
Die Air Show an für sich war auch ziehmlich cool. An ein paar Stellen hab ich mich so richtig gut erschrocken. Für mich war der Höhepunkt der Show als eines der Flugzeuge mitten im Flug aus heiterem Himmel die Motoren ausgeschaltet hat und es auf einmal fast mucksmäuschen still wurde. Der Effekt war einfach genial!. Wir hatten eine grandiose Zeit!
Bevor wir uns wieder auf den Nachhauseweg gemacht haben sind wir nochmals durch Portsmouth gefahren. Ach, …was für ein schönes Städtchen. Das Komische ist, als wir nach Hause fuhren überkam mich ein Verlust- und Trauergefühl. Ob das was zu heißen mag?!
Naja, wie ihr aus den Fotos und meinem sehr ausführlichen ‘Bericht’ entnehmen könnt hatten wir eine fantastisches Wochenende. Ich freu mich schon auf unseren nächsten Auslug dorthin. (Familie Mack, lasst mich wissen, wann ich kommen soll um eure Familienfotos zu machen…ich komm sofort!)
Jetzt wo wir wieder zu Hause sind sind wir schwer mit den Vorbereitungen für Zizi’s bevorstehende Geburtstagsfeier am Samstag beschäftigt. Ich kann nicht glauben, dass sie schon 4 wird! Meine Herren wie schnell doch die Zeit vergeht!
