Last Tuesday Zaynah had Field Day at her preschool. At first I didn’t quite know what to expect but I guess a Field Day here in the US is sort of comparable to a ‘Sportfest’ in Germany?! Anyways, I was able to attend with Kiki & C.J. with my camera at hand. I figured I’ll share some pictures before the usual monthly album comes out for you to enjoy. The kids in Zizi’s class ‘competed’ or should I say participated in 2 events: Waterball tossing and the Fireman’s Relay. For the Waterball tossing as you can see they had this really cool sort of slingshot and they had to try to get their ball into one of the wholes of the wooden board at the back. None of the kids actually made it into any of them, but it was tons of fun nevertheless. The Fireman’s relay was my fave. They put together 2 different classes to go up against another set of 2. The kids had to run with a cup to a bin, fill it up with water and then run back and dump it into their teams’ bin. It was soo cool and some of the kids managed to get soaked. We had tons of fun and were lucky enough to enjoy a warm sunny day. I now know for sure to put her in sneakers for Field Day next year. She was the only one wearing her pretty ‘clapping shoes’ since Mami didn’t have a clue…lol

On Thursday she also had her graduation!!! Geez….her first graduation and Papi couldn’t even attend since he had to be in Gettysburg, PA for a Group meeting from work. Her class along with all the other preschool classes performed 3 different songs on stage and were awarded a sort of “Scrapbook of the Year” from their teachers along with their diplomas. It was very exciting and we had a terrific time!

Letzten Dienstag hatte Zaynah ‘Field Day’ mit ihrem Kindergarten. Erst hatte ich keinen Blassen, was da auf mich zukam, aber ich glaube man kann es mit dem dt. Sportfest vergleichen?! Kiki, C.J. und ich konnten jedenfalls mit dabei sein und meine Kamera war natuerlich wie immer zur Hand. Ich dachte mir, dass ich das als Anlass nutze um schonmal ein paar der Fotos mit euch zu teilen, bevor das monatl. Fotoalbum online gestellt wird. Die Kinder in Zizi’s Klasse sind in 2 verschiedenen Sportarten angetreten, besser gesagt haben dran teilgenommen: Wasserball Weitwurf und Feuerwehrmann Staffellauf. Beim Wasserball Weitwurf mussten sie einen Wasserball aus Stoff mit einer ziehmlich coolen Schleuder in verschiedene Loecher von einem runden Holzbrett schleudern. Ich glaub keiner hatte es eigentlich geschafft auch nur 1 Ball durch ein Loch zu bekommen aber alle hatten dennoch tierisch viel Spass an der Sache. Der Feuerwehrmann Staffelauf war mein Favorit. 2 Klassen haben sich zu Teams zusammengetan und sind gegen 2 andere angetreten. Die Kids sind dann nacheinander mit einem Becher in der Hand zu einer mit Wasser gefuellten Tonne gelaufen, haben ihren Becher aufgefuellt und mussten dann zuruecklaufen und das Wasser in ihre Team-Tonne auskippen. Das war sooo klasse und ein paar Kinder waren danach pitsche patsche nass. Wir hatten einen morz Spass und hatten auch noch Glueck mit dem Wetter, denn es war wunderbar warm und sonnig. Ich weiss jetzt, dass ich Zaynah naechstes Jahr in Turnschuhe stecken werde fuer den ‘Field Day’.

Diesmal war sie die einzige die ihre schoenen Absatzschuhe anhatte, da die Mama keine Ahnung hatte von tuten und blasen…

Donnerstags war dann ihr Jahres Abschlussfest!!! Meine Guete….ihre 1. Abschlussfeier und der Papa konnte noch nichtmal dran teilnehmen, weil er fuer ein Gruppentreffen von der Arbeit aus nach Gettysburg, Pennsylvania musste. Alle Kindergartenklassen haben zusammen auf der Buehne 3 verschiedene Lieder vorgefuehrt und haben anschliessend von ihren Lehrern ein “Scrapbook des Jahres” zusammen mit ihren Zeugnissen bekommen. War total aufregend und wir hatten eine morz Zeit!

Well…it’s a new era!

Since I have all the time in the world – yeah right!- I figured it’s about time I switched from the monthly snail mails to a real BLOG!!! I hope this will make it easier on ME (oh how selfish i am…hehe) and of course on all of you to view the gazillions of pictures I usually upload along with the brief update on our lives.

For starters, we’re still renovating the house. Will it ever end?
Zaynah earned herself a ‘Student of the week’ award in school last week and was proud as can be. She was rewarded with a huge hug and kiss and a Lollipop she requested. (Let’s hope this is all she’ll be asking for when she’s in high school and getting straight A’s! Buying Lollipops will save us a bunch of money. lol)

The twins turned 2 on May 10th. Can you believe it – 2 years old! I can’t believe how fast time flies by!

Mikalah is definitely the musician in our family. I catch her singing to herself all the time and it’s so adorable to listen to her and watch her dance to herself. I wish you could see it for yourself! She’s also trying to speak more. Zaynah is trying to teach her tons of new words that she repeats after her and I must say she’s actually pretty quick at catching up and remembering the words.

Now Caleb on the other hand – jeez. We can’t get him to speak 1 real word. haha Sure, he knows how to say balloon, Papa, Mama, Kiki, Naynah (for Zaynah!) ball, Lilly… well I guess he knows a few ‘real’ words… what I’m trying to say is…every other/new word usually ends up with the ah or oh sound attached to it. It’s driving me crazy! I never know what he’s really talking about. And he loves to get himself into trouble too. He’s always sneaking around – wonder where he got that from?! At least he still loves to snuggle with me. Auntie Belinda crowned him ‘Love muffin’ which describes him to the ‘T’!

Craig took 2 weeks of leave to help with the renovation. We’re hoping to get the upstairs bedrooms done in that time. Keep your fingers crossed! He’s also enjoying the nice weather to go golfing and has recently managed to play the best game of his ’so very old’ life (hey, he’s 5 months older than me after all – I get to make fun of it!). He scored a 90… please as if I knew what exactly that meant! lol Nevertheless I endured listening to his stories about that day for at least 30min non-stop! I got such a kick out of watching him talk…it reminded me of a 5 year old in a candy store! He’s also found another new hobby – web design. He loves sitting on the computer and just playing around, learning new things. I’m sure he’ll take some classes in it once he finishes his degree.

Myself, I have been keeping myself busy with the kids, the renovation and my photography! I just had a shoot last week with a 6 week old little baby girl and it was so much fun! (You can see some of the pictures on my website of course!) It almost made me want to have another one myself – no worries! We’re not pregnant and definitely NOT planning on it either! Well…I’m enjoying the wonderful weather here. I finally set up my fountain in the backyard and I just wish I could sit out there more often and enjoy the soothing sound of the water. Once the renovations are done – trust me – that’s all I’ll be doing!

So as you can see, things are pretty much normal in Cloward-land. As always you’re very much loved and missed! *********************************************************

Es beginnt eine neue Aera!

Da ich ja alle Zeit der Welt habe – wer’s glaubt wird seelig! – habe ich mir gedacht, dass ich den Schnecken-Rundemails ein Ende bringe und stattdessen einen BLOG anfange!!! Ich hoffe dass ich MIR (ohhh ich bin ja so egoistisch…hihi) und natuerlich auch euch somit einiges vereinfache. Das Anschauen von meinen zisch hochgeladenen Fotos zusammen mit dem kurzen Update von unserem Leben wird so hoffentlich uebersichtlicher und benutzerfreundlicher sein.

Wir sind immernoch am renovieren. Hoert das denn jemals auf?

Zaynah hat fuer letzte Woche eine Auszeichnung zum ‘Schueler der Woche’ bekommen und war stolz wie Oskar. Sie wurde von uns mit einer riesen Umarmung, einem dicken Kuss und einem Lollipop belohnt, nachdem letzterem hatte sie verlangt. (Hey, hoffen wir dass es bei Lollipops bebleibt wenn sie auf’m Gymnasium ist und nur einsen bekommt. Dann sparen wir ‘ne Menge Knete! lol)

Die Zwillinge sind am 10. Mai zwei geworden. Stellt euch das vor – 2 Jahre sind sie schon alt! Ich kanns nicht glauben wie schnell die Zeit vergeht!

Mikalah ist definitiv die Musikerin in der Familie. Ich erwische sie staendig beim singen und tanzen zu ihren eigenen Liedern. Sooo suess! Ich wuenschte ihr koenntet es mit eigenen Augen sehen! Sie versucht immer mehr Woerter zu lernen. Zaynah uebt schon ganz fleissig mit ihr. Ich muss sagen sie tut sich richtig gut.

Caleb hingegen – meine Herren. Der kann noch nichtmal 1 richtiges Wort. Haha Klar, er kann natuerlich schon Luftballon (‘balloon’), Papa, Mama, Kiki, Naynah (fuer Zaynah!) Ball, Lilly… aehm, ok…er kann dann doch schon ein paar ‘richtige’ Woerter…was ich also meine ist…jedes 2. oder 3. Wort endet mit –ah oder –oh. Das macht mich total wirr! Ich weiss nicht wirklich worum es bei ihm geht! Er liebt es Schweinereien zu machen. Er ist voll verstohlen – frag mich wo er das nur her hat?! Naja, zum Glueck kuschelt er ja noch total gerne mit mir. Tante Belinda hat ihn schon ‘Love muffin’ getauft , was perfekt zu ihm passt!

Craig hat sich 2 Wochen Urlaub genommen um mit bei den Renovierungen zu helfen. Wir hoffen, dass wir in der Zeit die Schlafzimmer auf der oberen Etage fertig bekommen. Drueckt uns die Daumen!Er nutzt ausserdem das tolle Wetter zum golf spielen. Letztens hat er die beste Runde Golf in seinem ‘ach so alten’ Alter (hey, er ist genau 5 Monate aelter als ich, also darf ich mich ruhig drueber lustig machen!) gespielt. Er hat 90 Punkte gehabt…also bitte, als haette ich einen Blassen davon, was das heisst! lol Dazu musste ich mir noch fuer min. 30 min non-stop die Ohren blutig reden lassen, wie toll und erfolgreich sein Golftag doch war! Ich haette mich fast wegschiessen koennen vor Lachen beim zuhoeren….er erinnerte mich an einen 5-jaehrigen im Suessigkeiten Laden! Ausserdem hat er ein neues Hobby entdeckt – web design. Er koennte fuer Stunden am PC sitzen und rumspielen. Ich bin mir sicher, dass er ein paar Kurse belegen wird, wenn er mit seinem Uniabschluss fertig ist.

Ich bin mal wieder wie immer schwehr beschaeftigt mit den Kids, dem Haus, den Renovierungen und meiner Fotografie. Ich hatte letzte Woche ein Foto shoot mit einerm 6 Wochen alten Baby und ich hatte einen Morz Spass! (Ihr koennt natuerlich ein paar der Fotos auf meiner Internetseite sehen!) Jedesmal wenn ich die Kleine sehe bekomme ich Lust auf noch eins. Keine Sorge! Wir sind nicht schwanger und sind auch definitiv NICHT an der Planung! Ich geniesse das wunderbar sonnige Wetter hier. Ich habe endlich meinen Brunnen im Garten aufgestelle und ich wuenschte ich koennte den ganzen langen Tag hinter’m Haus sitzen und das plaetschern des Wassers geniessen. Wenn die Renovierungen fertig sind – ihr koennt mir glauben, werde icht nichts anderes machen!

Wie ihr also sehen koennt geht’s uns wie immer gut. Wir vermissen und lieben euch alle sehr!
